Water in Rock Creek is diverted into a 20-inch diameter buried pipeline for about 3740m with a drop of about 186m.
At the end of the pipeline the flow is diverted to irrigated farmland.
The existing water intake facility and the existing pipeline were modified for power generation (USDA subsidies for hydro power on existing irrigation systems).
The generated power is being sold to a local utility company.
